Shangri-La's Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka
Our Opinion of Shangri-La's Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa
Shangri-La's Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa Summary
Opening in June 2016, the Shangri-La Hambantota is the chain's newest addition to the fold and first in Sri Lanka. Style and service at the Hambantota are typical of Shangri-La resorts and therefore exquisite. Sprawled over 53 hectares, spilling onto the golden coast of the Indian Ocean, the resort is set in a truly exotic and beautiful location. With an 18-hole golf course, 30 metre sunset pool, health club, kids club, expansive spa and artisan crafts village, the Hambantota offers recreation and relaxation like no other resort in Sri Lanka.
Dining options at the resort include a Sri Lankan cuisine restaurant and a pan-Asian restaurant inspired by street food cuisine; diners are invited into the drama of an Asian cityscape as tasty dishes are prepared before their eyes. Guests seeking restoration can also make use of the beach grill or the resort's bars, which serve light refreshments throughout the day.
Spacious rooms on the resort range from garden view Deluxe Rooms to opulent suites with golf course or ocean views. All accommodation provides bespoke furnishings, flat screen televisions, broadband internet, designer amenities and deep soak bath tubs.
Hambantota is the perfect stop off point on the way to, or back from, Yala national park. The resort is approximately 4.5 hours by road from Bandaranaike International Airport.
