Client Testimonials
I want to point out that Hurawalhi will have a special place in our hearts. In addition to the arrival formalities in Male and the seaplane transfer to the island which were extremely smooth and fast, what we discovered there made us happy from the first day. The island is beautiful, the villa is of good standards although it could have been more generous in terms of surface, and the beach in front of it, wonderful. In that area, of the sunset villas, however, access to the reef is a bit far from the shore and being in off season, there was quite a lot of grass. Regarding the restaurants, Canneli is very generous in size, including JFK and Coco Bar, all of which are very beautiful in terms of design and right on the oceanfront. Kashibo is separated in a position at the end of a jetty, where the underwater restaurant 5.8 is also located. The 5.8 dinner experience it is a must but please book with the wine pairing. We had the best table ( first on the right from the entrance) where 70 % of the marine life was on side and above us. Wow ! The food is exceptional and with quality ingredients in all the restaurants. We were always surprised with new dishes and we certainly could not taste them all in our 10 days wonderful holiday. The reef is beautiful and we did snorkelling daily. In the Prodivers and Canneli area the drop off is very close to the shore, at about 10-15 meters. The marine diversity is incredible and we benefited from a diverse show. But, Hurawalhi excels in the quality of the people who serve us and the exceptional services. It is something I have not met on another holiday and we've been in quite a lot of places in this world. Thanks to the resort management for this special pro-customers approach and to everyone in Angelfish UK for offering us such a wonderful holiday. We already booked next Maldives trip whith Angelfish so, we'll be in touch.
A really beautiful, family-friendly island with a lovely natural feel and a very good standard of service. It’s an incredibly pretty place — lush, green and tropical, with wide stretches of white sand, clear water and lots of space. Because it’s a large island, the beaches often feel wonderfully quiet and private, and even when the resort is busy, it never really feels crowded.
The size has both pros and cons. There are two great pools, beautiful spacious beaches and a good range of food options, but it’s not really practical to walk from one side of the island to the other, so that’s worth bearing in mind. There’s also no house reef, although there is a short daily boat trip for snorkelling.
The kids’ club is a good provision, but I’d say it’s best suited to younger children, perhaps up to around age 6. There isn’t much specifically aimed at teenagers or older children. We first visited when ours were 5 and 8 and it was perfect for them; returning at 8 and 11, there was noticeably less geared towards their ages.
Overall, it’s a genuinely lovely island and the setting is probably one of its biggest strengths. The service is consistently good and most of the staff are really chatty and friendly. We met lots of people who have worked on the island for 10 years or more and seem genuinely happy in their jobs, which gives the whole resort a warm and welcoming feel.
This is my fifth year in a row booking with Angelfish. What was originally meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip has somehow become an annual highlight for me and my two children.
The service from the Angelfish team is consistently excellent and hugely personable. Their knowledge of the Maldives really sets them apart — they genuinely visit the islands themselves, and that comes through in the advice they give. It feels like a huge amount of thought goes into matching you with the right resort, not just on the obvious practical points such as room type, dining options, kids’ clubs and snorkelling, but also on the harder-to-define things like the atmosphere, feel and overall vibe of an island.
They really understand what you’re looking for and, in my experience, get it spot on every time. The booking process is seamless, and they work with excellent partners in the Maldives, so everything from arrival through to speedboat and seaplane transfers has always felt completely straightforward.
Five years on, I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. There’s a real sense that they know both the Maldives and their clients incredibly well, and that combination makes a huge difference.
Another year, another unforgettable Maldives getaway seamlessly organised by Angelfish Travel.
Universal:
Having tried other luxury destinations, we’ve found that Universal Resorts remains simply the best, which is why we keep returning to their properties. The leadership team is mainly made up of people who have been promoted from within so they know what it is like on each resort which really helps.
Milaidhoo:
We stayed in Sunset Water Villa #120 once again, and it was perfectly suited to our needs.
The team on the island goes above and beyond to ensure a flawless holiday and looked after us impeccably, while the meet-and-greet team at Malé Airport made a stellar first impression right out of the gate.
The food and service across every restaurant are outstanding, and the bar team’s skill with mocktails is out of this world—we were continually delighted by their creative mix-ology.
The island itself is lush, green, and meticulously maintained. Somehow, they manage to preserve the feeling of being on your own private, remote sanctuary, worlds away from daily stress. For underwater lovers, the house reef, adjacent Milaidhoo Wall, Garden, and Bay are exceptional compared to other resorts. Furthermore, the Ocean Stories Dive & Boat team are absolute professionals—all the dive guides are awesome and always willing to tailor dives to your preferences.
What truly sets Milaidhoo apart is the warm, genuine management and staff. Everyone engages at just the right level visiting feels less like a hotel stay and more like coming home to family.
In our opinion, Universal Resorts sets the gold standard, and Milaidhoo isn't just another five-star resort in the Maldives, it’s pure paradise!
Baros:
Returning to Baros felt like revisiting an old favourite. We stayed in a Baros Suite with Private Pool & Jacuzzi, which provided ultimate seclusion alongside direct step-out access to the pristine beach.
The entire team delivers an exceptional guest experience they looked after every detail impeccably, and the airport meet-and-greet team ensured our arrival was smooth and welcoming.
Dining across the island is superb, with the culinary standard at The Lighthouse Restaurant standing out as truly extraordinary.
Despite the passage of time, Baros remains as lush, green, and impeccably kept as ever—a serene sanctuary where everyday stress instantly disappears. The house reef and surrounding dive spots offer world-class underwater life.
Ultimately, the warmth of the team is what makes Baros so special.
Universal Resorts continuously sets the gold standard, and Baros remains an absolute gem in their collection!
On Baros IMHO the only downside is not offering an All-Inclusive Alcoholic or Non-Alcoholic offer, though we highly recommend the dine-around offering
Great experience with Angelfish, thank you for all your help!
Milaidhoo is the perfect honeymoon experience, we were looked after from the second we arrived. The island is so beautiful and picturesque, it was like living in paradise. The water villa was extremely spacious and reflected the ocean surrounding, we could snorkel right from our villa which we loved. All of the staff at breakfast were amazing and knew our orders by day two, everyone was super friendly.
Vakkaru was by far our favourite, we loved absolutely everything about it. Adel our butler, went above and beyond - the service was exceptional and really made our stay. We loved the vast choice of restaurants, the sushi on the water was our personal favourite. The spa was world-class. From the treatments themselves to the relaxation and jacuzzi area. We did a cooking class with the Indian chefs and ate in the organic garden, this was one of the highlights for us as wehad the entire kitchen and lerned out to cook a 3 course meal from scratch with the head chef. The hotel had a big screen set up for the world cup and Alan asked if he could get the GAA (gaelic football) set up on it as the bar was quiet and it was late - this again showed us the level of amazing service we experienced while at Vakkaru. We would be recommending for anyone to visit here and we'd love to go back again.
This was a second visit for Sandra and I, a first for Matt & Flick and we all love Dusit Thani and hated to leave. The staff and service are wonderful, it was a pleasure to meet so many of the staff again and the fact that they all seem to love it too, says a lot for the attitude of their employers. We simply love this place, cycling (it is a long island and you can call your butler with his buggy if you must) at night, with the lighting and the delightful fragrance of the flowers, is a joy. The reef is great, if lacking a bit of colour and can be choppy due to the weather, so maybe not great for the less confident swimmer. The food is wonderful in all of the outlets. What Dusit lacks, compared to some, is the ability to simply walk around the island on the soft sandy beaches. My only gripe is that the excursions and watersports are prohibitively expensive, so we simply don't bother with them. Dive Centre is great, with top kit, but the dive sites tend to be focussed on a few, albeit high quality sites, so can become a little repetitive if you dont want to see another swarm of manta's. We will almost certainly be booking again in 2028.
Your service at Angelfish has been exceptional, the personalised touches and strong communication has been really amazing throughout. We would genuinely recommend you to all our honeymooner friends and continue to book special trips with you. Angelfish liaised with the hotel to make sure our stay was effortless and as comfortable as can be.
The park hyatt hotel maldives was a dream, the service, personalised touches, staff, chefs were really so thoughtful and our stay was personalised throughout. Thank you Claire!
We had an amazing holiday for my husband birthday at Emeralds .
Everything was faultless and the staff couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay . The island was everything we could have hoped for and came up to our expectations.
There was a lot of behind the scenes organisation prior to the holiday as lots of elements of the holiday were to be a surprise for my husband . Clare at Angelfish did a wonderful job helping me with all the arrangements . Booking tables for our group of 16 throughout our stay and ensuring the whole event ran smoothly . Her help and guidance took all the usual stress out of organising this special event.
We have used Angelfish for many years and will continue to do so. Always helpful, professional, friendly knowledgeable service !
Huge thank you to the Angelfish Team - we had such an amazing experience both through the decision process and once we got to the destination!
Dusit Thani is a touch of paradise and definitely 5*. Arriving by seaplane was so special, we got to see so many of the maldive islands as we flew in. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the welcome we received on arrival at Male Airport was so lovely, someone was with us the whole time showing us where to go, and taking us to the lovely lounge to wait for the seaplane. It was the same on our arrival at Dusit Thani, we were introduced to our butler Anas, who took us to our villa and showed us around and how everything worked, he set us up with his whats app and he was available 24/7 throughout our stay.
The villa was beautiful, all facilities you needed were there including an expresso machine. Walking out the front of our villa the sea was right there, clear blue waters (just like the photos) and the reef was amazing, we saw so many beautiful fish whilst snorkelling, this was what I was hoping for.
One of our favourite things was cycling round the island, to the pool the restaurants and the bar, each villa had their own bikes provided, what a great idea.
The food was unbeliveable Ahmed in the Market restaurant was just amazing, we had the same table each time we visited and he was so attentive. We also ate in the Benjarong restaurant where the thai inspired food was delicious. Our favourite restaurant was the Sea Grill where we had delicious steaks cooked to perfection.
The Sand bar was a lovely place to have a cocktail and listen to the resident DJ, we had lunch most days here and the staff behind the bar were fantastic.
This was our first visit to the Maldives after several of our friends spoke so highly of it. It did not disappoint and the island that Angelfish recommended was spot on a real holiday of a lifetime. We will definitely be back.
