COMO COCOA:We loved our stay at Como Cocoa. Highlights were the staff, who were so warm and friendly, the food, which was exceptional, and the room, which was stylish and very comfortable, if there had been an outdoor as well as an indoor shower it would have been perfect. The island itself is attractive, but being close to Male there is constant boat traffic passing by and a lot of local development going on which impacts the view from all of the rooms in some way. This bothered us for the first couple of days but the island is so chilled it stopped mattering. Windy weather made snorkelling less appealing but I enjoyed a couple of wonderful spa treatments instead. During our stay there were only 4/5 other rooms occupied. We didn't mind this at all as we value our peace and privacy and because it was quiet, we never felt the need to eat in our room. The dining room and bar are quite small, so if the resort had been full meal times may not have been such an enjoyable experience. Cocoa is expensive, but you get what you pay for. It manages to pull off an air of understated luxury without being at all stuffy. We scored desire to return as an 8 purely because of the location, but if you can overlook that and want to be a speedboat ride from Male it's a very lovely place to be and we would definitely be tempted to visit again as part of a two island trip.

REETHI FARU: A large, very lush island, we really liked the jungly feel of the interior. Room was spacious, bed comfy, air con the most efficient of the three resorts we visited. The food was really good in all the restaurants - we only used Vakaru for breakfast. There was always plenty of choice and everything was fresh, tasty, and served with a smile. We did find the breakfast tea and coffee service a bit hit and miss. This could have been because we're late breakfasters but we often had to ask for more coffee, or go and hunt down a waiter. Our favorite a la carte restaurant was Veggie & Vegan - food, staff, service and atmosphere here were all top notch, but it was good everywhere to be fair. Bed and breakfast worked well for us as we don't eat lunch every day and we never had any issues booking our preferred restaurant in the evening. We only did a little bit of snorkelling right outside our water villa but we saw plenty of fish. We thought Reethi Faru offered good value for money.

EMERALD FAARUFUSHI was just fabulous. Service was faultless across the resort. Food was superb everywhere and unusually for us, we enjoyed eating buffet style in Faru almost as much as the a la carte dining. We were so well looked after by the F&B teams - Fernando prepared a couple of lovely curries and some fabulous fish dinners for us. Nothing is too much trouble, they will prepare anything you want if what is on the menu doesn't take your fancy. The sommeliers were also great and recommended some lovely wines to accompany our meals. Although there are just over 80 rooms and they were at 85% capacity it never felt busy. Our room (120), was in a great location for the snorkelling jetty. The weather wasn't the best unfortunately but when we did manage to get out on the reef we were impressed with the variety of fish life and colourful, healthy coral. We loved the indoor and outdoor bathroom and garden, it was great to have two showers and two sinks and good to have the indoor area completely closed off instead of semi-open. Could do with a shaver socket, but otherwise pretty perfect. The pool was just lovely and kept spotlessly clean like everything else. Our room attendant Wayan was friendly and very patient with our late breakfasts and dinners. We felt completely relaxed the moment we arrived on the island and were sad to leave. Definitely an island we would love to return to if we can afford it, hopefully in better snorkelling weather.

Very disappointed to find out we were returning on the 8 hr flight in a Boeing 777 instead of the airbus 380.
Nowhere near the comfort as on our outbound journey. Hardly any drinks offered except with the meals. The plane was cramped and not much room.
I wouldn't go to the Maldives again unless I could pick my own flights and insist on a airbus 380.
Everything else was fantastic... the island was beautiful and the staff were very friendly.
Angelfish were extremely helpful and I'd give 10/10 for their correspondence and giving us a smooth journey

Fantastic booking service though Angelfish, didn’t have to use them for any issues as nothing happened to warrant it but was reassured there would be someone on hand to deal with it. On return nice touch of reviving a welcome back card and would definitely use them in the future.

Angelfish service is outstanding and wouldn't hesitate book with them again.

We booked a deluxe beach villa on Adaaran Select Meedhupparu and had room 116, which was well positioned on the north side of the island, the rooms are arranged in a horseshoe and some are more set back from the sea than others. We found the room to be a bit basic; but functional for the time you spend in the room. Sunbeds can be moved to where you want them positioned on the beach and we had ample sun and shade according to the time of the day for sunbathing or keeping in the shade. I think this side of the island had the best stretch of beach and access to the best snorkelling on the house reef and we saw an array of fish including black tip reef sharks, turtles, rays and octopus. It's lovely to see the sea planes coming and going and although the water sport centre is located on this side of the island it didn't detract from the sheer beauty of the island.

There are two buffet restaurants and we found the quality to be better in the main restaurant than the Indian restaurant, although we did find the staff in the Indian restaurant very friendly and they even arranged for us to have Kedgeree for breakfast one morning which was nice. The a la carte restaurant was lovely, but disappointing we were only able to book it twice in our stay, the occupancy on the island was high and I suspect this is why.

We found the all-inclusive drinks very good with a selection of wines by the glass, the bars are well positioned and found ourselves going between the sunset bar and main bar. We are happy with low key entertainment, but found the DJ to be on too many nights and played the same loud music that would have been better placed for a club in Ibiza than on a Maldivian island when the majority of the guests are of a certain age that would have appreciated music from all generations. We did like the duos and musicians at the Al A Carte restaurant. The main bar was busier when the DJ wasn't there. We found the bar staff very attentive and they got to know our orders.

We took advantage of going on the free dolphin safari and saw lots of dolphins. We also paid to go on 2 snorkelling trips which were great and well organised by the water sports staff.

Our room was well serviced and reception staff helpful.

Overall, I would recommend this island to people, we may choose somewhere different next time for the variety especially when paying a lot for the holiday, but equally happy to return and would definitely book through Angelfish.

Decided that having a reef quite important. The free daily reef boat trip was okay, but quite a distance below and some days it wasn’t clear (reef clearer in the morning because of the tide when we were there but boat trips were only in the afternoon.

The island is long so you needed the buggies unfortunately we felt that we were riding buggies a lot. But the buggy drivers were so lovely especially Mufiso.

Food was AMAZING.
Favourite place to eat was East Market though Allegra was superb.

It’s a shame they don’t allow you to keep snorkel and fins for the duration - having to return them by 5pm every eve was a nuisance, especially when water sports is one end of the island and your water villa the other.
The complimentary suntan cream was lovely bonus especially when we ran out of ours towards the end of the holiday.

Angelfish did an excellent job of putting together an amazing trip for us to Sri Lanka and Milaidhoo in the Maldives. Their service was efficient and personal and we are grateful to them for providing a true trip of a lifetime. Would not hesitate at recommending Jo and the team or using them again in the future.
