Angelfish couldn't have done more for us and the hotel was stunning. Great food, very clean and the staff were amazing
Thank you all for your help with our booking to Maldives. Everything was amazing and loved our stay.
Fantastic holiday, great tours and history in Sri Lanka and lovely week of chilling in the Maldives.
Another excellent holiday in the Maldives impeccably arranged by Angelfish as always Thank you.
Park Hyatt Hadahaa Pros Hadahaa is a lovely resort. The service is outstanding, the food is excellent, the house reef is amazing (one of the best we’ve been to) and easily accessible at various access points around the island. Our beach villa was very good, spacious, well designed and the pool was a good size. The location down in the south gave us the possibility of going on more unusual trips eg we went on the Tiger Shark Diving/Snorkelling trip to Fuvahmulah which is a extraordinary experience and included crossing the equator and sighting a huge pod of melon headed whales. It seemed we were very lucky with the weather as the seas were very calm and clear. From a service pov, the staff were incredible and organised lovely treats for Paul’s birthday. I had booked a ‘nice’ table at the Ocean Grill via the concierge prior to our stay. When we arrived we were told to take ‘any table’ and I realised that there was no table allocated to us and that no table really had the wow views that I had hoped for based on our visits to other Maldivian resorts. Anyway, between our butler and the F&B manager Rau, we were offered to eat in the Treehouse restaurant for a private dining experience but based on the Island Grill menu which was the best of both worlds for us and was a lovely rescue of what could have been a bit of a disappointment. We were delighted.
Cons - the transfer time from Male airport is long - and its always longer than advertised by the time there’s some delays, finding luggage etc to realistically it took us an additional 5 hours from landing at Male to get to the island. The architecture and design of the resort is very ubiquitous corporate park Hyatt style and lacks ‘soul’ and with the exception of Koi, the other restaurants don’t really have a sea view which is a bit unusual given that that’s one of the key features why people go to the Maldives. The beach villa could do with some additional shade around the pool and although we requested a private villa, we could see through the the next villa pool and deck and presumably they could see us as well (we were in 18 and they were 17). We had a limited view of the sea so perhaps this was the interpretation of privacy? Anyway it was fine and we didn’t raise it with them as we were happy to stay in the villa we were allocated.
Milaidhoo was exceptional - utterly delightful but there are things that we wish we would have known, particularly as we are such keen snorkellers. The snorkelling at Milaidhoo is more complicated in terms of the tides strongly dictate when you can access the snorkelling from the water villas and we could only snorkel from our deck in the afternoons at high tide. Additionally. There is only one access point for the snorkelling at low tide which is next to beach villa 204 and was a fair walk for us from water villa 110 over very hot decking so we had to plan a bit more carefully and take stuff with us like shoes. We did get used to the pattern of this and if we left a bag at the snorkel start point then our butler would bring it back to our villa by buggy (such luxury!). The snorkelling was fabulous and we were astounded as the number of fish, big pelagics, turtles, rays and corals - and we’ve been to several resorts in the Maldives and had just come from Hadahaa. The only reason I’ve scored it a 9 is to do with the limited access and the currents around the island.
We only dined at Ocean as it was included in our meal plan and the menu was extensive and delicious. Also the position of Ocean with sea views was just lovely and we didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else. The resort credit of $65 in the other restaurants would not have gone very far at all so we were happy to stick with Ocean as we aren’t super foodies and preferred to spend money on excursions.
We went on the Nurse shark snorkelling and Manta ray snorkelling excursions which were amazing and we were lucky enough to snorkel with wild dolphins as part of the manta trip. Apparently this is a rare occurrence so we were beyond delighted.
Over the course of our stay Milaidhoo gave us a complimentary half bottle of Ruinart champagne (our favourite) plus another one as part of a champagne breakfast! We were utterly spoiled and our whole stay was just a fantastic experience. We would definitely recommend it and would consider going back.
It was a great holiday. Thank you for your advice during booking. The house reef was really superb, with so much to see and coral looking healthy and worth the extra journey time. Loved the natural island. So peaceful and gorgeous calm nature. Made a difference not having seaplane noise.
Staff were so great. Thinn our villa host was just perfect for us.
Loved all the free 5 min massages the spa offered.
Staff were exceptional across the board. I have worked in high level hospitality for years and I only came across one barman that was very polite but not as smiley or friendly as everyone else. Everyone else was super.
Loved the privacy of Beach Villa 19. Perfect for us. Would not have wanted to be near the arrival jetty. Or in one where passing guests could see in.
Had a look the water villas and felt we made the right choice having stayed in Anantata Kivharah water villa last year.
They made us a cake and decorated our bed for our wedding anniversary. And gave us a mimosa and fruit platter as well.
Liked the afternoon snacks in our room. Our villa was a great size and very comfortable.
Food a great standard and enough to not get bored for a week. Possibly wouldn't stay there longer than a week.
Johnny had amazing diving experiences. So we would think about returning.
Only negatives were villa needs a little maintenance on outside of inside shower. Glass has algae. Plus outdoor bath is cracked on surface and made out of concrete type material so not very comfortable. It took so long to fill a 1/4 and was uncomfortable that we gave up as we felt it wasn't a good use of precious water anyway. This were minor issues that did not impact our stay. I feed this back to hotel along with all positives when we left.
Virgin was fine but service no better than BA particularly. Part of the service in Premium Economy wasn't great. A world away from Singapore airlines or Qatar.
Thank you so much for organising it for us and for the cocktails.
I have already recommended you to friends.
Many thanks
Lizzie
The most amazing holiday. Thanks again for arranging it all and for sorting any issues extremely efficiently
We have used Angelfish travel since 2007. Angelfish are truly the experts on all things Maldives. They recommended Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu the first year we decided to visit the Maldives after listening to our ideas for our ideal holiday. They picked the perfect place for us. We loved the resort so much we have been there 15 times - always booking through Angelfish. We are happy to support a small family business who provide such an excellent and specialized service - no stress no fuss- just a fantastic experience every time.
Angelfish we appreciate you.
Having had Angelfish Travel and Komandoo Island Resort recommended to us by family members, we had no hesitation in contacting them to arrange our first ever trip to the Maldives. From the first email to the ongoing contact now, as we seek to arrange a return to Komandoo, we have had nothing but top quality service from the team at Angelfish. Clearly specialists in their field, their approach is knowledgeable, professional and, above all, friendly; responses are prompt and detailed; and the levels of support and guidance are high. We cannot thank Clare and her colleagues enough for all that they have done for us. Circumstances beyond our control led to a postponement of our trip and we needed to ask a lot of questions at times. At no point, however, did we feel burdensome: we experienced kindness, patience and excellent customer service at every single moment. The pairing of an outstanding travel company with a truly fantastic resort led to a holiday which we suspect will not be beaten. The beauty of Komandoo stretches far beyond its stunning beaches and picture-postcard seas, extending throughout every single interaction on the island. The company refers to its team as Champions and they truly are extraordinary people, going above and beyond to make a holiday exceptional. We arrived as strangers and left feeling like part of the Komandoo family. We cannot wait to return! Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this trip one that we will never forget.
Luxe has fantastic facilities, a great beach and amazing coffee. We felt it is more of a family focused destination than set up for couples. Food quality is amazing, however we felt that the Buffet is quite hectic and doesn't create the best dining experience. The other restaurants on site are all good - Beach Rouge is a good addition on HB/FB but we question the need for an Indian and Chinese when there is Indian and Chinese at the hotel buffet most nights - we feel the hotel restaurants struggle because of this, especially as they are not on meal plans.
Prince Maurice is our favourite hotel. Main reasons being the ambience of the property, the AMAZING food and bars and the general soul. The food this year was amazing, especially the daily menu at Archipel. The breakfast has improved since we last visited 2 years ago but wish they would change the coffee away from Nespresso, even just at breakfast. We feel that the rooms are in need of a refurb, particularly the air conditioning. But the place is amazing and we will certainly be back
