Kahanda Kanda Boutique Hotel, Sri Lanka

Located on the south coast of Sri Lanka and situated 15 kilometres from Galle, Kahanda Kanda gives guests a taste of the gentle and timeless "country life" of a tea estate, while still being less than 30 minutes by tuk tuk or taxi from culture, shopping, and sun-kissed beaches. The boutique hotel features just 12 suites and villas, many of which have private pools.

Meals are served in a free-standing dining pavilion, although there is an option of private dining anywhere on the estate. Contemporary western fusion cuisine with a healthy focus is served, along with classic Sri Lankan curries and Thai cuisine. Set menus change daily, and the chefs prepare meals using estate-grown herbs, vegetables and fruits, along with fresh local produce.

Kahanda Kanda further offers a spa pavilion, located amidst the tea bushes with panoramic views; treatments include manicures, pedicures and massages. There is also an open-air yoga shala, which overlooks the tea estate, as well as a large communal swimming pool.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted due to steep drops and terraces.
