Jabulani is one of those properties that stays with you long after you leave. We have visited five times, and somehow we love it a little more every time we return.
The elephants are at the heart of it. Learning about them, their individual personalities and the journey that brought them to Jabulani is genuinely touching, and spending time with them takes the experience far beyond a traditional game drive. The safari itself is equally memorable: excellent guiding, beautiful landscapes and wonderful opportunities to see a wide variety of wildlife. An extraordinary morning in the bush, followed by superb food and a wonderfully comfortable suite, is a hard combination to beat.
The suites are beautiful, spacious and extremely comfortable, with genuine luxury and the character you want from a safari lodge. For families and groups, the three-bedroom villa is excellent, while the newest addition, a stunning two-bedroom villa, offers exceptional privacy, space and exclusivity.
Above all, it is the people who make Jabulani special. There is genuine passion behind the property, and it shows in everything. It is a place we are very proud to recommend, and one that deserves to be experienced rather than simply read about.

Jabulani Safari Summary
Jabulani Safari sits within the 16,000-hectare Kapama Private Game Reserve in South Africa's Greater Kruger region, a 20-minute road transfer from Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport. An intimate, family-owned lodge and proud member of Relais & Châteaux, it is built around one of the region's most remarkable conservation stories: its rescued elephant herd.
Superior Suites are spacious, open-plan rooms with a king-size bed, lounge area and fireplace. Bathrooms feature an oversized freestanding stone bath, double vanity and a frosted-glass shower overlooking the bush, while each suite has its own private wooden deck with a plunge pool. All are fully air-conditioned with a stocked minibar. Maximum occupancy is two adults and one child aged 12-17.
The three Signature Suites are adults-only, offering enhanced privacy and space, and are positioned close to the lodge's new Wellness Centre. Interiors mirror the Superior Suites, each with a private deck and heated plunge pool.
Villa Somopane is a two-bedroom villa ideal for families. Both suites offer king-size beds (twin configuration available) and en-suite bathrooms with double vanity, freestanding bath and semi-outdoor shower, opening onto an expansive shared lounge with fireplace, deck and plunge pool. A private game-viewing vehicle is included, and children aged six and above are welcome.
Villa Zindoga is the lodge's exclusive-use villa, with a dedicated chef, butler and ranger. It comprises two luxury suites with private decks and plunge pools, plus a third suite well suited
to children or adults sharing, all en-suite and set around a shared lounge, dining area and outdoor deck. Children of all ages are welcome.
The Wellness Centre offers a sauna, gym, sensory room and cold plunge pool, with a tranquil relaxation deck for quieter moments. Beyond the reserve, guests can arrange scenic helicopter flights over the Blyde River Canyon, a round of golf or hot air ballooning.

Dining is an exceptional culinary experience, with fine food inspired by South African flavours and chefs who cater personally to each guest's dietary preferences. The soulful elephant experiences are the heart of a stay, with time to meet the rescued herd and learn about the conservation work supporting them.
