Babylonstoren
Our Opinion of Babylonstoren
Babylonstoren Summary
Babylonstoren is a historic Cape Dutch farm that boasts one of the best preserved plaaswerwe (farmyards) in the Cape. It is beloved for its gardens, which are divided into many sections that include fruit, berries, indigenous plants, a prickly pear maze, a clivia tunnel and a plethora of trees of historical and botanical import. The farm sits at the heart of the wine country, and numerous varieties are produced on site.
Every aspect of Babylonstoren (including the contemporary Farm Hotel and Spa, the Farm Shop and Bakery) is informed by the ever-changing tapestry and botanical diversity of the gardens. There are two restaurants: Babel, the intimate signature restaurant, and the Greenhouse tea garden, where visitors to the garden can enjoy tea under the majestic old oaks. Guests can also enjoy wine tasting and delicious platters at the Tasting Room.
