Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort

Le Telfair, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is an elegant, colonial-style, well-established property on the large Bel Ombre estate, that it shares with Heritage The Villas and Heritage Awali. The resort derives its name from renowned 19th century Irish naturalist, Charles Telfair, who lived in the area and would undoubtedly approve of the lush tropical gardens and 1300 hectare nature reserve.


Accommodation is arranged amongst 20 villas that house 6 or 8 light and airy plantation house style suites, all with resort host service. Our pick of the room categories is the Junior Suite Beachfront, with gorgeous sea views from both interior and balcony seating areas.

Golf is a key offering and the Heritage Golf Club Le Chateau Course is a championship venue that has long been recognised as one of the best on the island. This has now been complemented by Heritage Golf Club La Réserve Golf Links, which designers Peter Matkovic and Louis Oosthuizen have created to the most exacting standards. We believe La Réserve now holds the mantle of Mauritius' finest and most challenging course. Guests are entitled to unlimited complimentary green fees on Le Chateau course and a once-per-stay paid round on La Réserve, to limit traffic on the new course.

There are 12 dining options, which extend to the adjacent properties, and guests staying at each have free reign to use all outlets under the Gourmet Bliss plan. Quality fine dining is showcased at Le Chateau, a 19th century plantation house, that has an opulent period suite available for overnight special occasion stays. We were also impressed with the superb dining and service at the contemporary club house at La Réserve Golf Links, a genuine 5-star experience. A more relaxed vibe can be enjoyed at the C Beach Club, featuring a restaurant, two bars, a wine cellar and daily entertainment around a smart pool area that is also open to visitors from outside the hotel.

The resort also features a large wellness & fitness area, a full range of land and water sports, hiking, wildlife excursions, and quad-biking in the Heritage nature reserve. For younger guests, there are teens and kids clubs, as well as Baby Timomo, a complimentary 'baby corner' for toddlers under 3.
