All that Angelfish done for us was superb, from the first phone call to the welcome home postcard was special. The first problem we incurred was the 3 hour wait for a seaplane. We had a beautiful lounge to wait in and they supplied food and drinks which was really nice, but all we wanted to do was to get to the island and start our holiday, by the time we arrived it was close to 6pm. It made it a long day, but reception made us very welcome. All the staff made us feel special, the food, beach,accommodation and the service superb. The one problem was communication, we seemed to always start the day at reception trying to get the simplist things done. Anyway by the third day we were able to totally relax and enjoy what this little piece of paradise had to offer. As I am writing this I am really missing being back there.

41 Lighthouse is an oasis in Galle Fort. Our only regret is that we couldn't fill it! This is the perfect place to stay as a family or a group. The staff are endlessly helpful and great cooks. It's also just really chic.

Gal Oya Lodge is stripped-back perfection. As long as you don't mind leaving behind some creature comforts like AC, this is the perfect place to stay a couple of nights and go on safari.

Jetwing Surf has been done really well. One has the impression of being in a luxurious environment without being ostentatious in any way. The cabanas are subtle but elegant and it's obvious the measures that Jetwing has taken to preserve the natural environment.

Fort Bazaar is another very chic boutique. The hotel will benefit massively from its rooftop pool once it's open, but a free tuk-tuk shuttle to its sister hotel's pool is a novel solution. The restaurant provides plenty of Western options but is a little pricey even for Galle Fort - no booze is also a shame!

Honourable mention to our Hummingbird driver Chamin, who we couldn't recommend more.

We had the most excellent holiday - the resort and in particular the staff, were simply superb. The food was amazing and it was the perfect resort for us. We were treated to the most glorious weather which even surprised the staff (almost too hot at times.) The island was sensational and we doubt, we'll see a place like that in a long time. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday - Didn't miss the tv at all.

We wouldn't hesitate to go back to that resort, and use Angelfish travel again.

Emirates however. Not again. Famed for their service?? The return flight home dampened our high and brought us down to earth. On both flights (stop in Dubai) we were placed near the back of the plane. That meant we were served last and on both occasions, I had to have what ever was left. Neither time did I get a choice of meal - why? When I've paid the same as everyone else?? The head stewardess accommodated by offering a meal from business class but only after I complained. I even mentioned that I didn't get to eat on the first flight to the ground crew before the 2nd flight. My misery was compounded by the fact I had a little kid screaming, and kicking the back of my seat for 7 hours. Fun times. I know Emirates can do little about that, but the meal was beyond a joke. I'd pay extra for a direct flight next time with a different airline.

Most amazing resort I?ve ever been to. Amazing service and attention to every detail.

The food and service was absolutely outstanding and the all inclusive worked so well and very generous. The island for us was too big and the beaches were not of same high standard as other islands we have visited. Really enjoyed the holiday - the staff were outstanding!!

Whilst this is not a 5* resort, we certainly didn't feel as though we were missing anything.
The staff were fantastic and the service great, although as it was Eid and large local families were seated in large groups, the restaurant service did suffer slightly.
We enjoyed snorkeling on the house reef and the staff at Ocean Dimensions were great and we took 3 trips with them. They were always happy to chat whenever we bumped into them.
My only negative comments were the lack of fruit at breakfast (something mentioned by other travelers) and the use of MSG in some of the dishes - I have a severe allergic reaction to MSG which leaves me debilitated for up to 48 hours and I had to avoid all the Chinese main course and noodle dishes.
The rooms are looking a little tired (due to the initial choice to paint surfaces rather than leave them natural) but our room and all the public areas were spotless.
We chose this resort due to its location to Hanifaru Bay but we will return to Kihaa again. The location to Hanifaru was the trade-off for staying at a larger resort which actively encourages children.

Already plan to return to Drift Thelu...

We absolutely LOVED Drift Thelu - it was a perfect match! Only wished we could have stayed a 3rd week.

The staff was amazing. Two of them even came to say goodbuy on our day of departure - despite having their day off.

PS... Unticked boxes = we didn't use the service.

Wonderful holiday, a stunning place to be and hugely enjoyable all round. Great staff, activities in resort excellent, as were dolphin cruise (one hour trip sourced from beach) and trips to Golf course.
Two minor sources of negative feedback, one the buffet lunches in main restaurant were a little disappointing although offset with lunches at The Deck which were good, and general cost of drinks in the main bar were extremely high which led to few people being present, potentially one to watch or to offer an all inclusive option.

Did not rate desire to return as we never return to an island and prefer to try something new. Staff are excellent and all inclusive package is excellent and the best we have had. Excursion limited and seemed rushed in comparison to other islands.

Serene, calm. Just as the pictures indicated, beautiful hotel, excellent service.
