Another great trip organised by Angelfish, there are a few minor aspects on the hotel but nothing to prevent me returning to the same venue again.
Angelfish you offered an excellent service from start to finish with great advice and superb organisation. I would not hesitate to use you again and hope to book a holiday to Mauritius in the next couple of years. Fantastic resort and fabulous holiday.
Thank you 😊
Outrigger is an excellent all round resort, good for couples like us and definitely a good choice for families with plenty of facilities and 3 swimming pools. Could not fault the staff for their excellent efforts and service. We felt the all inclusive package was good value for money with plenty of food, drink (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and activity options included. Angelfish booking service was faultless as always, brilliant advice and knowledge prior to travel.
Everything was perfect. Great booking experience. The Prince Maurice was as wonderful as ever with superb service at the hotel and the golf courses.
The Hotel - Superb Staff, food and service. The staff couldn't do enough for you, the spread and quality of food was excellent and the room was perfect. The big let down is the price. We went half board and only had lunch on about 5 occasions, but with that and drinks, we spent another ?1000.
BA - the seat configuration is poor in Business. With it being a night flight and having to step over other sleeping passengers, wasn't fun. Flight out, very average, non of my choice for breakfast and could have re-soled my shoes with the steak. Flight back, fantastic staff, couldn't do enough.
All that Angelfish done for us was superb, from the first phone call to the welcome home postcard was special. The first problem we incurred was the 3 hour wait for a seaplane. We had a beautiful lounge to wait in and they supplied food and drinks which was really nice, but all we wanted to do was to get to the island and start our holiday, by the time we arrived it was close to 6pm. It made it a long day, but reception made us very welcome. All the staff made us feel special, the food, beach, accommodation and the service superb. The one problem was communication, we seemed to always start the day at reception trying to get the simplist things done. Anyway by the third day we were able to totally relax and enjoy what this little piece of paradise had to offer. As I am writing this I am really missing being back there.
41 Lighthouse is an oasis in Galle Fort. Our only regret is that we couldn't fill it! This is the perfect place to stay as a family or a group. The staff are endlessly helpful and great cooks. It's also just really chic.
Gal Oya Lodge is stripped-back perfection. As long as you don't mind leaving behind some creature comforts like AC, this is the perfect place to stay a couple of nights and go on safari.
Jetwing Surf has been done really well. One has the impression of being in a luxurious environment without being ostentatious in any way. The cabanas are subtle but elegant and it's obvious the measures that Jetwing has taken to preserve the natural environment.
Fort Bazaar is another very chic boutique. The hotel will benefit massively from its rooftop pool once it's open, but a free tuk-tuk shuttle to its sister hotel's pool is a novel solution. The restaurant provides plenty of Western options but is a little pricey even for Galle Fort - no booze is also a shame!
Honourable mention to our Hummingbird driver Chamin, who we couldn't recommend more.
We had the most excellent holiday - the resort and in particular the staff, were simply superb. The food was amazing and it was the perfect resort for us. We were treated to the most glorious weather which even surprised the staff (almost too hot at times.) The island was sensational and we doubt, we'll see a place like that in a long time. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday - Didn't miss the tv at all.
We wouldn't hesitate to go back to that resort, and use Angelfish travel again.
Emirates however. Not again. Famed for their service?? The return flight home dampened our high and brought us down to earth. On both flights (stop in Dubai) we were placed near the back of the plane. That meant we were served last and on both occasions, I had to have what ever was left. Neither time did I get a choice of meal - why? When I've paid the same as everyone else?? The head stewardess accommodated by offering a meal from business class but only after I complained. I even mentioned that I didn't get to eat on the first flight to the ground crew before the 2nd flight. My misery was compounded by the fact I had a little kid screaming, and kicking the back of my seat for 7 hours. Fun times. I know Emirates can do little about that, but the meal was beyond a joke. I'd pay extra for a direct flight next time with a different airline.
The Constance Prince Maurice proved to be a great success and exceeded our expectations. The relatively small size of the establishment along with the setting and the ambiance make this hotel a wonderful place to unwind and relax.
We were a party of eight, my wife and I plus three grown up kids along with their partners and who all make up our family.
We used all the restaurants and bars and really we explored and used all the facilities of the CPM and enjoyed everything.
The offering of CPM - the food, wine, accommodation, beaches, pools plus facilities were all first class and the service level of all members of staff was quite amazing. The staff at CPM are warm, engaging, polite and make the place very special indeed.
