Overall a very good holiday from the initial contact with yourselves, the flight with Sri Lancan airways was better than I expected, and Helengeli was probably as good as anywhere we have experienced in our 10 visits to the Maldives.
Thank you !!!!!

Cilantro restaurant is far better quality for both food and service than the Main Coast to Coast restaurant.

Coco Palm is an idyllic destination. The beach on the sunset side of the island is particularly stunning. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The food is top notch. Overall, we loved it and can't wait to return!

Vivanta is a beautiful little gem of an island. It's quite small but that just makes it feel more intimate. The staff are exceptionally friendly and seem to love their jobs! The food at Vivanta is simply stunning. We particularly liked the fact that all meals (except breakfast) are a la carte. The menu changes daily and everything we ate was of the highest standards. The AI drinks menu is very extensive. We liked being able to enjoy a few glasses of Prosecco by the pool! All in all, a superb holiday.

What an amazing holiday! Service from Angelfish was exceptional, the travel was completely painless and the resort was stunning! Thanks!

The most important part of this review is to say that my wife and I had the most wonderful honeymoon at Drift Thelu Veliga arranged by Angelfish Travel. The arrangements were complex as we also needed to book flights and accommodation, at Drift, for friends joining us from Russia. Angelfish Travel made all the arrangements and kept us informed at every step of the way. The communication, assistance and response, to the queries that we had, could not have been more efficient, professional or friendly. All of the arrangements worked perfectly without a single hitch. We were greeted in Male airport and guided through the process of transfer to the seaplane, our greeter taking care of our luggage.
On arrival at Drift Thelu Veliga we received the customary greeting at the island from the friendly staff and provided with cold towels and a cocktail whilst checking in. Mo-ad, the Front Office Manager, introduced himself as our contact for the duration of our stay and made it clear that if we needed anything we could contact him and he would sort things out. During our stay Mo-ad made frequent contact with us to check that everything was to our satisfaction. This contact was not intrusive at all but showed that there was a general will for us to have a great holiday.
As we were on honeymoon a bottle of prosecco in a bucket of ice was waiting for us in our room. Our rooms (we had two, one for my wife and I and another for our friends from Russia and our step-daughter) were well equipped and with many power points (UK 3-pin) to accommodate all of the chargers necessary for batteries, cameras, i-phones, tablets etc. etc. A well-stocked mini-bar was provided and, as we had booked All-Inclusive, this was stocked every day with the allowed drinks. A very welcome item was a Nespresso coffee machine and again the capsules etc. were re-stocked every day. Wi-fi was free and available in all areas of the island.
The shower room was well outfitted and did not suffer from the sporadic water pressure that I have experienced on other Maldivian islands - there being a constant supply of water which was easily adjustable for flow and temperature with an additional flexible jet attachment which was really useful for washing down sandy feet and underwater gear.
The room cleaning service was excellent, discreet and, as everything on this island, accommodating to our requirements.
On our first visit to the restaurant, I was surprised that there seemed to be a number of small platters with an array of starters, salads, main courses and deserts. However when I realised that there are very few bungalows on this island there is no need to have huge spreads of each dish on large platters. I have experienced before on buffet style restaurants that if you are eating late in the meal period you can be faced with an unattractive and unappetising display of decimated platters. This is not the case on Drift, all of the dishes are frequently replenished during the meal periods so that no matter what time you decide to eat you are enticed with a very attractive display of beautifully prepared and presented dishes with great variety. The restaurant staff are very attentive and ensured that all our needs were attended to in a very friendly, professional and efficient manner. There was no hesitation from the staff to ensure that our wine glasses were refilled with a good selection of good quality "house" wines. Hussein, our waiter for the most part of our holiday, was absolutely superb.
The bar, on the beach was, as with everything on this tiny island only a stones throw from the room and the restaurant. The bar staff were as usual, really friendly, attentive and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and all the drinks served were beautifully presented and accompanied by appropriate snacks (popcorn, banana chips, biscuits with coffee etc.) As we were all inclusive all of our drinks, including cocktails, were included and again there was a good selection of quality "house" wines by the glass.
The beaches were good and, as on many Maldivian Islands, small parts of coral washed up make barefoot walking in some areas a little tricky, however these beaches are swept every day to remove these. It must be remembered that this is a new resort island and the staff are keen and very proactive to ensure that the beaches are as pristine as possible given the tides that flow in twice a day. Underwater there are corals in easy snorkelling distance from the beach with a great variety of beautifully coloured reef fish. Although some of these corals are suffering from the unwanted attentions of the Crown of Thorns starfish there is a great attention from the resident Marine Biologist, Lynn, and the water sports manager to clear the offending starfish and to reinject new corals. They are embarking on a project to "re-plant" new corals on steel frames and Lynn is only too pleased to explain how and why they are doing this. There is a diving centre on the island and a new dive centre building is well in the way to being completed. On this visit, I did not do any diving, on account of having a small knee problem so felt that it was unwise, however the snorkelling both from the island and also on the Dhoni snorkelling trips organised by Drift, satisfied my needs for experiencing the underwater life.
My wife and other female members of our party visited the spa and they all thoroughly enjoyed their massages which were expertly delivered in very pleasant surroundings.
We also went on Dhoni fishing trips and caught lots of fish including a large Trevally which the chef on the island cooked for our party for a nominal charge of $10. Such is the will of everybody on Drift to accommodate their guests.
Although the island was closing for two weeks for the new building of the water sports equipment and various other completion works, this did not stop the staff creating a ?meal on the beach? on our last night on the island. As usual the service was superb and the selection of wonderful foods expertly barbecued.
I really have to think hard of any negatives but, as I said, we had two rooms and one of which was to accommodate our Russian friends and our step daughter and although the island do not allow three to a room, because it was our honeymoon they bent the rules and allowed it. The room was set up with an extra bed which, did not really suit it. The layout including the extra bed was not perfect but within a short while we had rearranged the furniture to make it comfortable and workable. This was not the fault of Drift as they extended their rules to accommodate us. The food that was laid out was not labelled, however once we mentioned this to the Restaurant Manager Chris, every mealtime he provided a "tour" explaining each of the dishes. The weather was unusually a little unsettled at times resulting in less than perfect visibility when snorkelling from the island, but again this is outside of the control of the Drift staff. A footbath outside each of the rooms would avoid traipsing sand into the room but we were advised that these were on order but had not yet been delivered. There is, at present, no shop on the island so you will to take sun cream and cigarettes etc. with you.
In summary, if you want glitz, partying, loud music, discos, tv etc then perhaps Drift is not for you. If, on the other hand you are looking for the Maldivian experience coupled with peace and tranquillity, excellent service, superb food and wonderful staff then you really need look no further than Drift Thelu Veliga and Angelfish Travel to sort it all out for you ? then all you need to do is relax and enjoy the holiday.

Hi thanks lovely holiday, staff very good, only areas fell down was no service on the beaches or by the pool, would have been nice to have someone walk around with limited supply of cold drinks, fruit etc. However appreciate this is more 5 star than 4. Loved the wine tasting in the sea , wasn't aware of the various events held daily ie cocktails etc but we could have asked. We loved the spa. If we don't return here next Jan will be going to similar resort so do please send anything over that you recommend.

Thanks again
