Not the prettiest island but made up for by great snorkelling and absolutely first class customer service. The lagoon villa was great and very good food.
This is an excellent resort. The room is much bigger than it appears in the pictures and the request I made direct to the islands customer service was fully honoured and we had an excellent location that was very convenient. The food is very good throughout the resort but I do not recommend the speciality restaurants as the service is appallingly slow. It was explained that the current kitchen does not meet the capacity of the restaurants. The staff are amazing and very well trained. The beach is very good indeed and well cared for but very eroded at the top end near the premium rooms so whee we were was perfect. However there is insufficient umbrellas on the beach leading to selfish behaviour by guests. The current ratio is 1:4 but the resort manager advised caped has been approved to change this to 1:2. Mosquitos are a problem but we had excellent nets installed in our room. The doctor on the island is proactive and excellent. The kids club is excellent and our son loved his daily visits. The main swimming pool is fantastic - great for swimming. It does need a lifeguard and sails for shade in the kids area. Management agrees. Spice restaurant beds to start service at 6pm as on Lily Beach (same owners) to avoid the plethora of kids all asleep by 7.15pm! Dive centre is very well run with great staff. Had 10 good dives with great variety. However I am not convinced that there is the volume of available sites with enough interested divers to keep the advanced diver like myself encouraged enough to dive daily. It's a matter of geography as there are more advanced sites to dive with thilas and more channels nearer Kuredu in the same atoll. Overall a superb island and we were especially happy with our room size, the location of the room, the food options, the pool and the kids club with some decent diving. The worst thing that happened was that our luggage came on two separate flights on the return leg (same on outbound) which was disappointing as we were the only passengers with a child and we had to wait over an hour at Male airport which mean zero time for shopping and an irritated thirsty child during the long wait. Thanks to you all for choosing an excellent island. Out of the seven islands I have visited this is in my top two. Look forward to next years trip!
It's a beautiful island. The beach villas are very comfortable. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. For the snorkelling, around the island, there are a lot of fishes. The only thing is that we need to be good swimmers because there's no channel to go to the outer reef, so we have to manage to swim over the corals. The food is very good and the chef even asked us what we would like to eat for one dinner and prepared what we asked.
Angelfish were great, they provided a service which is very hard to find in travel agents these days. The Dusit Thani personal service was wonderful and I feel a good indicator of how good a hotel is, is whether or not we would return, and we'd definitely return to the Dusit.
Overall a very good holiday from the initial contact with yourselves, the flight with Sri Lancan airways was better than I expected, and Helengeli was probably as good as anywhere we have experienced in our 10 visits to the Maldives.
Thank you !!!!!
Cilantro restaurant is far better quality for both food and service than the Main Coast to Coast restaurant.
Great first visit to Maldives. Resort was excellent with staff service levels and friendliness of the highest order. Food was superb
Thanks for the recommendation and organising this memorable holiday.
Coco Palm is an idyllic destination. The beach on the sunset side of the island is particularly stunning. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The food is top notch. Overall, we loved it and can't wait to return!
Vivanta is a beautiful little gem of an island. It's quite small but that just makes it feel more intimate. The staff are exceptionally friendly and seem to love their jobs! The food at Vivanta is simply stunning. We particularly liked the fact that all meals (except breakfast) are a la carte. The menu changes daily and everything we ate was of the highest standards. The AI drinks menu is very extensive. We liked being able to enjoy a few glasses of Prosecco by the pool! All in all, a superb holiday.
What an amazing holiday! Service from Angelfish was exceptional, the travel was completely painless and the resort was stunning! Thanks!
Extremely good and knowledgeable service from Angelfish again. Also very pleased with the long haul experience from Emirates especially the Airbus A380 which is very comfortable and the entertainment system is excellent as well as being able to charge phones, tablets etc via the USB socket. It was our eighth visit to the Maldives but our first to Angaga. We liked the ambience of the island; rustic accomodation but with a modern spacious bathroom. We had booked 11 nights in a beach villa but they were over subscribed so we placed in a superior water villa. These are very spacious and well appointed. It was a novelty to be able to snorkel directly from the villa steps and as we were facing the original water villa jetty there was often something to see in terms of boats coming and going and seaplane arrivals and departures. However the water villa experience lacks the "sand between the toes" experience for us so although we could have stayed for 5 days we opted to move after 2. We were given villa 131 which looked over to the original water villa jetty. (Angelfish had requested 110-125 but it was not to be). We did get a number of Italian water villa guests parking themselves close to us on the beach and they had to be asked not to use the sun loungers. This stretch of the beach had no on shore breeze at all when we were there (it might be different if the wind is coming from another direction) so it was quite hot. The swimming was excellent in the lagoon. There were plenty of fish to see around the coral but not easy to get to the outer edge as there were no channels on our side of the island and the water was very shallow over the reef. So I missed being able to easily get to the deep water drop off which is so typical of other island we have visited such as Reethi Beach. Although there was no soft coral, the hard coral was in excellent condition. There were many tiny sharks in the shallows (I counted 7 on one morning all under the jetty) plus we also saw a pretty large white tipped shark in just a few feet of water. In addition I saw a fairly large ray on the seabed one day and also a wonderfully coloured hermit crab peeping out of its massive shell. We didn't dive so can't make any comment on the dive centre. The food was excellent, good quality, well cooked and plentiful. The menu wasn't perhaps as varied as some islands we have been to but no need to go hungry! Salads were good and plenty of fresh fruit. Also toasted sandwiches on offer at lunch. We went on an all-inclusive basis and tried our bery best collectively to try as many of the 77 cocktails on the bar list as we could in 11 days!! There was definitely something there for everyone. The house wine was quite drinkable too. The staff were very obliging and helped sort issues without any hassle. Our waiter Usam looked after us very well and got to know our usual order for drinks in no time. Similarly our room was kept in good order by Hassan. There was musical entertainment on Saturday evenings but other than that it was chatting in the bar in the evening. All in all a very restful 11 days.
