Why House Summary
Why House is a small, independent, boutique hotel located just minutes inland from Dalawella Beach, and approximately fifteen minutes from Galle. The hotel offers ten rooms in total, including two suites, and interconnecting room suitable for families and groups. Children are welcome at the hotel: The garden is secure and most laid to lawn, children's menus are available, and the large freeform pool contains a shallow area.
Meals are taken either in the free-standing dining pavilion or privately, with a focus on contemporary western and Asian cuisine, along with classic Sri Lankan curries. The kitchen prepares meals using as many locally grown herbs, vegetables and fruits as possible. Breakfast is included, and all-day dining is available for a charge. The hotel also has a fully-licensed bar, serving a variety of cocktails as well a small wine selection.
Other facilities include an open-sided massage pavilion and a separate, raised pavilion for yoga, Pilates and personal training. There is also a new (2023) open-sided pavilion with gym equipment built into the bank below the swimming pool with garden views.
