Client Testimonials
Wonderful resort with fabulous staff and breathtaking reef abundant with multicoloured fish and a healthy reef. Food excellent and bountiful - fantastic Reef room - couldn't ask for me but they provided more with excellent yoga every day and an enthusiastic and helpful marine biologist which made the snorkelling come to life.
Shame about BA, but not a good service. Seat in front of me was broken, and was in the recline position the whole flight (return flight). Cabin crew tried their best to fix it, but no deal! A cabin announcement at the start of the out-bound flight had us, and many others, gob smacked! The senior cabin steward was introducing her crew, explaining who would be looking after who --- first class, business class, etc etc., finishing up with “and Those At The Back will be looked after by xxxxx). Good grief, you should have seen the look on the faces of fellow passengers around us. This might sound petty, but it didn’t go down well. Maureen has sent a scathing letter to BA Customer Service telling them this was totally unacceptable. Be interesting to see if she gets a response!!!
Ihuru was great. Had a little gripe at the start because it was difficult for me to walk round the island. A number of beach protectors had had a load of sand washed away and it was difficult for me with a rotten back problem to make the required high steps up/down. As it happened, they all pulled together and within a day a number of sandbags had been arranged to provide steps. That was nice!
And as for Angelfish ---- you guys can’t get better!!
Room was tired, could do with some tlc, although cleaned very well. Terrible bat poo in our outside bathroom every morning making it unusable. Snorkelling trip was average, took us to a reef which had very little fish but did see 3 turtles. Better snorkelling right out side our room. There is a wonderful sunset bar, but disappointing only open for a few hours each evening, think many people would have gone to it as an alternative to the Juju bar, which was brilliant.
However having said the above points, the island was brilliant, beautiful setting the staff could not do enough for you. Had to use the medical centre at one point, but the doctor could not have been more helpful and helped with pain killers.
Predominantly an Island visited by Italians, Germans, and French.
I would definitely recommend the Island for a wonderful Maldivian holiday.
One & Only The Palm was truly the most incredible hotel we've ever experienced - a luxurious and sophisticated sanctuary in an almost hidden pocket at the far end of the Palm. The architecture, facilities and staff friendliness were absolutely stand-out. We were particularly impressed with the poolside service (including exquisite cocktails and complimentary daily sunglasses cleaning), the breakfast at Zest, and the Guerlain spa, where I enjoyed the best massage treatment I've ever had. We are already planning our next trip back, and are so grateful that Angelfish introduced us to the resort!
Heritance Aarah was a brilliant introduction to the Maldives for us. The variety of restaurants (and bars) was what particularly drew us to this resort - and they generally didn't disappoint. The island is in an excellent location for snorkelling - you can see baby reef sharks, sting rays, parrot fish etc all swimming around at the shore without even needing to step foot in the ocean. The excursions on offer were great - we opted for sunrise fishing and dolphin searching, and both were successful trips.
BA economy - one basic meal , no tea/coffee after and second snack was only a roll / croissant so basic at best and doesn't compare well to other airlines,. Ground handling and baggage issues at terminal 5 - hour wait to leave plane plus over an hour to then get bags. Only plus was the direct flight.
Resort : reef has improved in last 2 years so is excellent. Those extra touches that give the Maldivian experience were lacking compared to our 2020 visit ... no "welcome" written in palm leaves on the bed, had to request coasters and nuts to accompany a sundowner drinks, one excellent Maldivian evening but no singers in the bar as in 2020. The positives are that the food was excellent and the coral/marine life fantastic and that is why we go. They are rapidly and discretely replacing all thatched roofs to be completed in April and were renovating a couple of villas so keeping standards high. We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend Angsana Ihuru.
We have been fortunate to travel on holidays planned and arranged by Angelfish for around 10 years.
We've travelled to many islands in the Maldives, several hotels in Mauritius and Oman.
Angelfish have always been able to offer lots of suggestions and up to date information on various destinations so it makes the process of planning and booking quite straightforward - except, unfortunately, for choosing between the many, many lovely places to visit and stay.
We had 4 nights in the beach villa. Anas ( front office mgr) kindly put us in 85 - the newly remodelled villa . This was very good - but may take some time for all villas to be upgraded . Definitely seek to put clients in these. Also, beach on sunrise side is heavily eroded ( though villas 85 and 86 are ok , and the villas below 50 to the water villas are ok ). I would not send guests to villas 50 - 84 . Otherwise the island retains all its many charms.
(Please disregard excursions rating, we didn't partake & can't remove score !)
Islands paths quite dirty & rough for bare feet, first island we've been to in 37+ trips where we felt it necessary to wear shoes everywhere !
Main bar not as peaceful as we'd like, every night featured same DJ/saxophone duo (!)
Overall, Dusit Thani ties with Coco Palm Bodu Hithi for our favourite island so far.
An outstanding resort and ideal for us. I think we may have found our perfect Maldives island! We really hope to be able to return next year.
The extras were pricey. Think we’d opt for all inclusive resort next time but otherwise superb and couldn’t fault it.
