Angsana Velavaru was a great destination for my wife, my 4 year old son and I. The natural lagoon offered calm shallow waters around the resort. It was possible to swim further away towards the enclosing coral reef for a nice snorkelling and experience a variety of aquatic fauna and flora. Alternatively, there are also daily free snorkelling trips with a boat to a random location around the reef. The constantly warm turquoise blue waters embraced us for the entire duration of our staying. We would only leave the water when the sun got too hot or when it would get too dark. Many small experiences contributed to a great holiday in this location. The sunsets and sunrises were magical. The exotic feeling from seeing harmless fruit bats flying around looking for fruit trees to feed from. The daily bird feeding where lovebirds come to feed directly from our hands. The hermit crabs running late for the 10 O’clock tide. The ghost crabs running away from our footsteps. Coupled with all of this, a nice comfortable bedroom with air conditioning and fresh water showers in the garden to freshen up from the hot salty day. The food buffet had many options for the diverse tastes. No matter if mediterranean or asian, the flavours were always reliably executed as if made by their original masters. But food was not in itself the only good aspect of the eating experience. The staff that served it was in no less appropriateness, always ready to help. My wife and son have severe food allergies. Since day one, the master chef would come to us and recommend allergen free food and even make special meals in the case that the ones offered in the buffet were not adequate. All the staff in the resort feels like part of a big family. Everybody is very warm and grateful. Will return again.
Constance Halaveli is a wonderful resort. It feels intimate, despite being able to walk around the island in 10 minutes. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is outstanding and the accommodation is first class. We will definitely be going back.
Thank you for your expert advice and support from start to finish - we had a fantastic honeymoon.
This resort worked really well for us all as a family. Mid level, five star, good diving, excellent food and service. Would recommend
The extras were pricey. Think we’d opt for all inclusive resort next time but otherwise superb and couldn’t fault it.
Wonderful resort with fabulous staff and breathtaking reef abundant with multicoloured fish and a healthy reef. Food excellent and bountiful - fantastic Reef room - couldn't ask for me but they provided more with excellent yoga every day and an enthusiastic and helpful marine biologist which made the snorkelling come to life.
Shame about BA, but not a good service. Seat in front of me was broken, and was in the recline position the whole flight (return flight). Cabin crew tried their best to fix it, but no deal! A cabin announcement at the start of the out-bound flight had us, and many others, gob smacked! The senior cabin steward was introducing her crew, explaining who would be looking after who --- first class, business class, etc etc., finishing up with “and Those At The Back will be looked after by xxxxx). Good grief, you should have seen the look on the faces of fellow passengers around us. This might sound petty, but it didn’t go down well. Maureen has sent a scathing letter to BA Customer Service telling them this was totally unacceptable. Be interesting to see if she gets a response!!!
Ihuru was great. Had a little gripe at the start because it was difficult for me to walk round the island. A number of beach protectors had had a load of sand washed away and it was difficult for me with a rotten back problem to make the required high steps up/down. As it happened, they all pulled together and within a day a number of sandbags had been arranged to provide steps. That was nice!
And as for Angelfish ---- you guys can’t get better!!
Room was tired, could do with some tlc, although cleaned very well. Terrible bat poo in our outside bathroom every morning making it unusable. Snorkelling trip was average, took us to a reef which had very little fish but did see 3 turtles. Better snorkelling right out side our room. There is a wonderful sunset bar, but disappointing only open for a few hours each evening, think many people would have gone to it as an alternative to the Juju bar, which was brilliant.
However having said the above points, the island was brilliant, beautiful setting the staff could not do enough for you. Had to use the medical centre at one point, but the doctor could not have been more helpful and helped with pain killers.
Predominantly an Island visited by Italians, Germans, and French.
I would definitely recommend the Island for a wonderful Maldivian holiday.
One & Only The Palm was truly the most incredible hotel we've ever experienced - a luxurious and sophisticated sanctuary in an almost hidden pocket at the far end of the Palm. The architecture, facilities and staff friendliness were absolutely stand-out. We were particularly impressed with the poolside service (including exquisite cocktails and complimentary daily sunglasses cleaning), the breakfast at Zest, and the Guerlain spa, where I enjoyed the best massage treatment I've ever had. We are already planning our next trip back, and are so grateful that Angelfish introduced us to the resort!
Heritance Aarah was a brilliant introduction to the Maldives for us. The variety of restaurants (and bars) was what particularly drew us to this resort - and they generally didn't disappoint. The island is in an excellent location for snorkelling - you can see baby reef sharks, sting rays, parrot fish etc all swimming around at the shore without even needing to step foot in the ocean. The excursions on offer were great - we opted for sunrise fishing and dolphin searching, and both were successful trips.
LOVED OUR HOLIDAY. Thank you. I did not want to return home! The island was stunning & we adored our first room. Sadly not so much the second room which had a very odd layout & we got very little sleep. Many many pros especially the Dive Centre. We loved the water sports too & wished we’d gone for longer. Only major not good thing was the kids club which we found utterly disappointing.
