Our Opinion of Serena Mivumo River Lodge
The beautiful setting of the Mivumo River Lodge is a wonderful base for enjoying the delights of the Selous National Reserve. The Lodges are spacious and well decorated, with large picture windows and a spacious balcony offering spectacular views overlooking the Rufiji River. The main areas are set on 3 levels, all still with a river view - the restaurant and bar at the top with the pool and sundeck below. Take a river cruise and see hippos and crocodiles up close - enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun go down on one of the deserted beaches, it is absolutely stunning.
Serena Mivumo River Lodge Summary
The Mivumo River Lodge sits on the banks above the Rufiji River in the Selous National Reserve. The 45 minute flight from Dar Es Salaam takes you to the airstrip at Stiegler's Gorge, the lodge is then a half an hour game drive away.
The Lodge comprises of 12 chalets, all with their own river view. The chalets have high vaulted ceilings and are decorated in a mix of classic safari antiques and rattan style furniture. The balcony's come complete with rain shower and plunge pool.
The main building has a triple tier, with the restaurant and bar at the top, going town to a viewing deck, sun deck and infinity pool.
