Kuredu Island Resort & Spa, Maldives

Kuredu sits on its own private island in Lhaviyani Atoll, a long, sandy stretch of land surrounded by a beautiful lagoon. At roughly 1,800 metres long, it's one of the larger islands in the Maldives, giving guests plenty of space to spread out and explore. The island is reached by a 40-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport.

The resort is divided into three distinct areas, each with its own character and reception: the Main Area, which welcomes all ages; O Resort, for guests aged 12 and over; and Sangu, a quieter sanctuary for guests aged 15 and above. Whichever you choose, the island's full range of facilities is open to you.

Dining is varied, with buffet restaurants allocated by room type alongside à la carte options serving Mediterranean, Asian and French-inspired cuisine with a local Maldivian twist. Bars include a tiki-style beach bar, a poolside bar specialising in frozen cocktails, a tea house at the end of the arrival jetty, a gin bar and a wine cellar with 250 labels.

For activity lovers, Kuredu is hard to beat: a PADI dive centre with its own hyperbaric chamber, a watersports centre offering everything from parasailing to kayaking, tennis and padel courts, a golf driving range and six-hole pitch and putt course, football and cricket pitches, a fitness centre and two Duniye spas.
