Komandoo will be closed for renovations from 1 June 2027. The planned reopening date is 1 Oct 2027.
Sister resort to the much larger Kuredu, Komandoo is a small island with beautiful white sand beaches,and is renowned for its relaxing atmosphere and as an ideal location to unwind.
Very much a couples island, children are not permitted on Komandoo, which unsurprisingly makes it popular with honeymooners and those wishing to really escape the hustle and bustle.
The All-Inclusive package is recommended, leaving you with no surprises on your return home.

Komandoo Summary
Komandoo Island Resort & Spa sits on its own island in Lhaviyani Atoll, surrounded by a lagoon and long stretches of white sand beach. The island is roughly 500 metres by 200 metres, and is reached by a 40-minute seaplane transfer from Malé. It is an adults-only resort, welcoming guests aged 18 and over.
There are 65 villas in five categories. Beach Villas (55 sqm) face the sunset, while the Jacuzzi Beach Villas (71 sqm) add a two-person jacuzzi and daybed on a sheltered wooden sundeck. The Premium Jacuzzi Beach Villas share that layout and sit in the prime beachfront position with sunrise views. The Jacuzzi Water Villas (88 sqm) are set over the lagoon on their own jetty, with steps into the ocean and sunset views, and the Ocean Jacuzzi Water Villas add a catamaran net on the deck.
Dining is split between Aqua, an overwater a la carte restaurant serving international dishes with fresh fish, seafood and prime beef, and Falhu, the buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner with themed nights. Kandu Bar has an outdoor deck with lagoon views and shows international sport, while Thundi Bar is a quieter beach bar for sunset drinks. In-villa dining, a snack menu and beach dining experiences are also available.
The Prodivers dive centre runs guided diving and snorkelling trips across 50 dive sites with a full range of PADI 5-star courses, and MSTS Watersports offers sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, kitesurfing and motorised sports on a rental and instruction basis. The island also has a good house reef for snorkelling and a kilometre of white sand beach.
On land, there is a freshwater infinity pool overlooking the beach, a sports court for football, badminton, volleyball and table tennis, and a fitness centre. The Duniye Spa offers Asian massage techniques using organic products.

How do you get to Komandoo?
Komandoo can be reached by a 40-minute seaplane journey from Male International Airport. Alternatively, guests can take a 35-minute domestic flight to Madivaru Airport followed by a short speedboat transfer.
What meal plans are available at Komandoo?
Komandoo is an all-inclusive only island. Two different packages are available: the standard package is 'All Inclusive Plus', while 'All Inclusive Gold' is an enhanced plan that offers more flexibility on dining options and other benefits. Contact us for full details.
Does Komandoo have a house reef?
Komandoo has an easily-accessible, shallow house reef that is ideal for both beginner and experienced snorkellers. It encircles most of the island at varying distances from the beach. There is a wealth of marine life to be seen, with a huge array of fish specires, turtles and moray eels spotted regularly, and even the occasional visiting manta ray. Equipment and guided tours are provided by the resident Prodivers team.
