This is a beautiful resort, well worth the slightly longer seaplane trip to get there. The rooms are particularly spectacular (the 'basic' beach villa was huge and luxurious and very private) and the beaches are excellent and very quiet. We really liked the difference in the 2 pools- the Andiamo was very shaded and jungly so ideal for the middle of the day, but if you want sun, the infinity pool is great. Food was also very good, especially the curries. It is very quiet at night, so not the place to be if you need entertainment, and prices are eye watering so the only way to go is all inclusive.

We had a lovely time at Hideaway! The Angelfish tema helped us again and they are absolutely outstanding!!!! Hideaway has worked hard on landscaping and i now a tropical dream of untouched parts and stunning flowers, palm trees and foliage. Our room, deluxe over water villa with pool was stunning. One of the best villaswe have ever stayed in, and we have been to the Maldives many, many times. The cleaning, the amnities, adn the upkeep is top. Service and food great, at par with high end, as should be. Our #butler" Omaima, is a sweetheart and very proactive. All staff very kind and the only suggestion we have is that the staff in Maatheefaru restaurant needs better training. At breakfast we had to ask someone to get tea or coffee (you can,t get it yourself) and they never asked if we wanted refills. The same went for dinner (we went there twice)-. The other restaurants were all fantastic with really good service and delicious food. Bonus to have so much to choose from. Large island and it was easy getting around on provided bikees, and lots of fun! Good gym. Very nice house reef for snorkleling, better than expected! The White Platinum AI plan is a must!!! Four Seasons
Staff good and attentive, Fantastic villas especially the refurbished sea villas. Beach villas very secluded and cant be seen by beach walkers. 25m pools in villas wonderful and main resort pools and surrounding facilities exceptional. Fantastic breakfasts, IVD less good with lack of variety, bearing in mind the super dining space in villa. Other food good but not outstanding. Bars OK but limited re cocktails. SPA treatments and facilities amazing and unique. Will be returning.

lovely private island feel with super soul and staff who will do anything to make your stay memorable. Best ever service and attention in the Maldives and that is saying something.. Management very visible and super friendly too. Food top notch and the Valentines celebration and wine dinner were superb. Villas beautifully designed but a bit quirky especially the bathrooms. beach walkers can see right into decks and to some extent villas. facilities what one would expect on a smaller island but made up for it by being part of the 'family' Staff seem to stay long and returning guests very high.
Both resorts made efforts to find me a keyboard to play on which was really appreciated. Best Maldives holiday out of from 15 visits. Will be doing a combination of both resorts on our next trip.

We did not have any Excursions, use the Spa or Dive - so have left those blank. We have marked the Rooms down slightly - only in so much as they are in ned of a little 'tlc' (compared with last year). We have marked the Bar down only in so much as this year they are 'amassed' all the Double Sunbeds on the Decking Surround and close proximity sand making it feel slight claustrophobic - just a minor critic. We have marked the Non-Water Activities based upon there not being any - (but that is exactly why we choose the Retreat!).

An amazing trip which was well planned by Angelfish. The trip was flawless from start to finish within a stunning resort. The staff were very friendly and the activities available were endless, we can't wait to go back!

Fantastic place. Lovely holiday. Staff really helpful. Food was amazing in all the al le Carte menu. Great chefs and all their teams.

Fabulous all round. Staff attentive and helpful nothing too much trouble. Food amazing and great variety something for everyone. Resort has changed hands and the plans for a refurb will make the resort even more spectacular. The sandbank walk to the crab shack for lunch is a must. The beach at Finolhu is fab .Refurb is needed after only 3 years operating,
. The rooms, fittings jetty, etc are already looking tired , but this didn?t detract from our enjoyment. The resort closes May to June for a refit.

Vakarufushi - all great - would be even better if they had a sunset bar. Restaurant more formal than Makanudu

Makanudu - all great except AI package should let you takes your drinks away from the bar

Makunudu is still very good. The rooms have been upgraded but are certainly not luxurious and the termite problem in the villas remain but it is a wonderful place to relax and feel at peace. Sitting in a deckchair at the Sunset Bar with a cocktail is an experience hard to beat.
The company have recently introduced a policy of charging $40 for early check in. It?s the first thing you are confronted with when you arrive and is not a good first impression. Interestingly, it was mentioned by all guests at the ?Repeaters? cocktails event but vigorously defended by Alli. First impressions are important and it is a pity they are spoiling this by appearing to be a little money grabbing (and it?s the principle rather than the amount).

J A Manafaru - we thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Service was very friendly and professional but it lacked the exceptional personal touch that you get at Outrigger (but maybe Outrigger is exceptional and it is unrealistic to expect it anywhere else?). The food was fantastic- probably the best we have have experienced in the Maldives so far.

They were keen to demonstrate their green credentials and they bottle their own water therefore it was disappointing that you couldn?t get this in any of the restaurants and had to buy bottled water such as Evian. Somewhat undermines the concept and I hope they address this.

Overall we had a superb holiday and the contrast between the two resorts worked well for us. Thanks for all your hard work as usual.

The hotels recommended, both in Maldives and Dubai, were the perfect fit for us.
