Northern Circuit Safari Long Tour

Long Tour

Day 1
Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to Arusha for your first night's stay.

Overnight stay at one of the lodge's in Arusha.

Day 2
After breakfast proceed to Tarangire National park where you will spend the day enjoying the topography of the park, including the huge baobab trees. The park is also renowned for its tree climbing pythons and large herds of elephants. For the more adventurous traveller, Tarangire also offers you the opportunity to undertake a walking safari. Your resort will provide you with a packed lunch.

Overnight at Tarangire.

Day 3
After breakfast drive to Manyara and spend the morning game viewing in the park. The lake covers an area of 230 square kilometres so expect to see a plethora of birdlife.

Return to your lodge in time for a hot lunch and an afternoon enjoying the facilities on offer.

In the evening head out again to Lake Manyara to enjoy a night game drive.

Day 4
After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti, the oldest and most popular national park in Tanzania. Depending on when you travel, expect to see either vast expanses of sunburnt savannah or never ending stretches of grass speckled with wildflowers. Either way, the area is rich with wildlife, with thousands of zebra, buffalo, eland, topi, impala and gazelles and their predators including the big cats and crocodiles. Your lodge will provide a packed lunch so you can enjoy the whole day without interruption.

Day 5
Because one day is not enough, set out from your lodge for another full day in the Park with lunch once again provided.

Day 6
After a morning game viewing in the Serengeti, transfer to Ngorongoro. Visit the Olduvai Gorge and the Shifting Sands on the way.

Arrive at your resort in the Ngorongoro highlands in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7
After breakfast travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On arrival you will descend onto the crater which is some 610 metres deep and covering an area of 260 square kilometres. The base of the crater is home to a wide range of animals, including the endangered black rhinos, plus an estimated 15,000 grazing animals including wildebeest, zebras, elands, and Grant's and Thomson's Gazelles. Your resort/lodge will provide you with a packed lunch.

Overnight stay in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Day 8
Drive back to Arusha and on to Kilimanjaro airport
