Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island

Our Opinion of Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island
Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island is one of our favourite resorts in the Seychelles – and for good reason. This is the most remote property we feature, reached only by a short domestic flight from Mahé. That journey is worth every minute: arriving here truly feels like stepping into another world, where “getting away” takes on its fullest meaning.
The island itself is a pristine paradise. Coconut palms fringe miles of powder-white sand, with secret picnic spots where you can easily find yourself completely alone on the beach. Inland, cycle and walking trails weave through lush greenery, where over 150 Aldabra giant tortoises roam freely. Out at sea, the marine environment is spectacular: superb snorkelling and diving await, with whale and manta encounters possible at certain times of year. Back on shore, the resort’s Discovery Centre is a treasure trove of knowledge, with expert curators sharing fascinating insights into the island’s birdlife and marine ecosystems.
Accommodation is classic Four Seasons: beautifully designed villas and suites, offering space, privacy and understated luxury. Dining is another highlight. The Lighthouse grill is a signature experience, serving the freshest seafood in a stunning setting. AHI brings contemporary flair to Japanese cuisine, while Claudine offers relaxed Mediterranean flavours that feel both familiar and indulgent. And of course, service throughout is exactly what you would expect from the Four Seasons name – warm, professional, and highly personalised.
The spa is superb, a true sanctuary where the natural tranquillity of the island enhances every treatment. While Desroches is a dream for couples seeking romance and seclusion, it also works brilliantly for families, with plenty of activities for younger guests to enjoy and explore.
With its rare blend of unspoilt nature, flawless service, and world-class facilities, Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island fully deserves its place on our Highly Recommended list.
