Mnemba Island

Mnemba Island is a very small private island off the north east coast of Zanzibar. Because it is private, it is not possible to 'land' on the island unless you are a guest at the private lodge. However, diving takes place 200m from shore where the reef is some 7km in length.

There are a number of dive sites that surround the island including:

Indian Gate
Small Wall
Big Wall
Kichwani
Wattabomi
Aquarium

Big Wall as its names suggests is reserved for the more experienced diver. After an initial steep drop, you can expect to descend to a depth of about 60 metres. Currents in this area can also be strong.

The Wattabomi is a good site for both the experienced and novice diver.
