Sainte Anne Marine National Park

Lying just 5km North East of Mahé, the Sainte Anne Marine National Park was the first of its kind in the Indian Ocean. Established in 1973, the Marine Park is comprised of 6 islands. The abundance of ‘seagrass meadows’ in the area draws a whole host of marine wildlife, making it one of the most popular excursion destinations for snorkelling and diving. Among this plethora of fauna are the rare Hawksbill and Green turtles. Bottlenose dolphins are also known to frequent the Park’s waters. Of the six islands in the Park, Moyenne and Cerf are the most accessible, allowing entry to day visitors and boasting enticing Creole restaurants. Protected for its marine biodiversity, guests visiting Sainte Anne are asked to remain respectful at all times and activities like waterskiing and fishing are banned.
