Client Testimonials
Outstanding service and superb, accurate, honest information about all resorts whilst selecting a destination.
A very appropriate selection of destinations, ideally suited to our requirements.
When our resort needed to change something after the booking had been made, Angelfish dealt with everything in a way one could only hope for. We will not hesitate to book again.
Thanks for a superb holiday, everything was perfect!
I have left blank some items as we did not use these
In short the whole experience has been fantastic, many many thanks.
2nd time of using Angel fish to help arrange a holiday and nice to see the service remains of the highest standard - thank you.
We loved this quiet, unspoilt, traditional Maldivian island. Although the rooms need a bit of refurbishment and reroofing (termites!) and there were lots of big black ants in our shower room we were very comfortable, wonderful bed about 7ft wide. Nice having our own sunbeds and deckchairs and some shaded areas to sit too. A couple more shelves or drawers for clothes are needed. Good shower and air con.
All the staff were excellent, always smiling and friendly. We liked being able to sit anywhere in the dining room each meal. The breakfasts were excellent, we had bar snacks for lunch which were very good too. We enjoyed the meals, a good balance of set menu and buffet.
Do hope that this pretty island does not change in the future, there are not many natural islands left in the Maldives.
Absolutely amazing holiday. Anantara Kihava is an outstanding resort and we were very impressed with the service received from Angelfish.
We had an amazing holiday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Makunudu is a really lovely unspoilt island, its natural beauty needs no dressing up with fancy resort facilities. The staff were all so friendly, accommodating and helpful, and the fact many have been working there for a number of years is testament to their enjoyment of their work. The food at Makunudu was truly amazing, definitely of 5* quality. Delicious food served fresh at every meal, I cannot fault it.
We joined the two free boat excursions, fishing and snorkelling, both of which were good fun; but aside from that we filled our stay quite easily with relaxing, snorkelling on the house reef, and diving (great dive team, we went from never dived before to PADI Open Water Divers).
If you want a holiday on a beautiful, unspoilt, simple, Maldivian Island with excellent service and 5* food then you really cannot go wrong with choosing Makunudu. We will definitely return, along with many others, to this little piece of paradise in the Indian Ocean, and we will definitely book with Angelfish Travel, who's personal service is second to none. Thank you everyone who made this holiday so special and memorable.
Here's the review I've just written on Trip Advisor:
We've been meaning to go to the Maldives for years, but either our budget or holiday time didn't quite fit. So when the stars finally aligned, we wanted to choose the perfect boutique hotel. We're used to shorter breaks, so in the end decided to split our eight nights between Six Senses Laamu and Cocoa by COMO. They both had different pros and cons (Cocoa has better diving and slightly better food, but Six Senses still excels in both these areas and has more than one restaurant) ??and we're glad we stayed at both ??but overall Six Senses had the edge for us.
Firstly because it was luxurious while still being rustic and relaxed, so you really felt closer to the beautiful surroundings. The buildings are all as natural as possible, made from wood and other natural fibres. You'll hardly see any plastic throughout your stay ? even the room fan blades are metal! Glass bottles are refilled using the hotel's own filtration system and straws are made of paper.
The villas really are something else. We stayed in number 37, which was a Lagoon Water Villa and the first on the left of Jetty B. We loved the outdoor shower, the glass-bottomed bath, the integrated Bose sound system, the sunken lounge area on the deck, the integrated sun loungers, the outdoor hammock net... everything was so thoughtfully designed, stunning to look at and extremely comfortable!
While walking to our room for the first time we saw a black tip reef shark, and a huge blue-spotted ray went past one day while we were sunbathing. You can swim out to a reef for snorkelling, but by far the best snorkelling is in front of the Chill Bar. We also did two dives with the dive centre, which were good, but we've been fairly spoilt in the past.
We also really appreciated the no-shoes policy; the staff's laid-back uniforms, friendly vibe and great service; our awesome personal GEM (Guest Experience Maker); and most of all the bicycles we were given to get around, complete with padded pedals to complement the barefoot experience! The food was also amazing. Nutritious yet tasty with lots of restaurants to choose from so you don't get bored. We certainly made the most of the free ice cream bar :o)
Lastly, it was Chinese New Year week in Asia and half term in the UK, but we were still surprised at how many young families were there ??and how suitable it was for them as well as couples. The bikes/beaches/snorkelling mean there's loads to do for beach bums of all ages, and we noticed a kids' den too.
If you get a chance to stay at Six Senses Laamu ??go! We were really sad to leave and while we don't usually stay at the same place twice, we would love to come back.
Pre booking communication with Angelfish gave reassurance, was informative and very relevant. We would definately book with Angelfish again.
Resort and facilities modern, clean and made the stay at the resort a pleasure and extremly enjoyableand restful. Food, varied choice and always flavoursome.
It really was lovely, just as promised.
Amazing time - the Sri Lanka tour was excellent - Christopher, our guide, was fantastic and we all really want to go back and spend longer next time. The Centara was great - the club upgrade made it - I don't think we would have had the same experience without it because the resort was so busy being peak holiday season. The "priority" restaurant booking didn't really work I thought - each place took reservations well into the future but then were not full when you went because so many people didn't turn up - a bit frustrating and they didn't seem able to recognise this on the day and let you in even when it was clear they wouldn't be full. Your advice and suggestions as to locations to visit in Sri Lanka and the hotel in the Maldives were perfect for us as usual - the hotels in Sri Lanka were also great and a real surprise I wasn't really expecting them to be so good (don't know why !). The only bit that didn't work was the airport lounge booking. Our second flights were at C gates for the onward flights in both directions and the Merhaba lounge at C gate at first said we couldn't use it because we were booked for the A gate one (there is no way we could have got to A and back and had more than 1 minute there). Eventually they let us in but we had to buy 2 more access passes because they don't recognise Emirates gold cards as we had thought. Other than that the perfect holiday and thanks so much for all your help as ever. I will get round to a Tripadvisor at some point soon ! Emily
