Ceylon Tea Trails

Ceylon Tea Trails is the world’s first tea bungalow resort, perched at an altitude of 1250 metres in Sri Lanka’s panoramic Central Highlands, parts of which are a World Heritage site. This award-winning Relais & Chateaux resort comprises four restored colonial era tea planters’ bungalows on working tea estates, offering authentic period furnishings, discreet butler service & gourmet cuisine. Rates are inclusive of all meals and drinks including selected spirits, liqueurs, wines and beers.

The four luxurious bungalows (each with its own Manager, Chef and Butler) are connected by walking trails through stunningly beautiful Ceylon Tea gardens. Each bungalow is different - Summerville - with an air of a country cottage; Castlereagh - with an eclectic style of its own; the high colonial Tientsin - one of the first planters' residences to be built in Ceylon; and the more modern Norwood - exuding 50’s character. Bungalow sizes vary from 4 to 6 exquisite rooms & suites; 20 in all. Follow the scenic tea trails by trekking or cycling from one unique bungalow to the next - spend a night or two at each, or just laze in one for the duration of your stay.

Guests can explore the lush tea fields and visit a century-old factory where they can learn about the art of Ceylon Tea. Those who seek indulgence can unwind in the beautiful gardens, choose a spa treatment, play croquet on the lawn or simply sunbathe poolside.
