Summary
98 Acres Resort and Spa is an elegant, chic hotel that stands on a scenic 98 acre tea estate, surrounded by a stunning landscape. The uniquely designed resort blends well with nature and consists of charming chalets mostly made of recycled materials. Discarded railway sleepers are put to good use in the making of decks and walls at the resort. Rough, hewn granite lends simple elegance to the floors of chalets, which are adorned with thatched roofs of ‘Illuk’ straw which adds to their rustic beauty.

The area surrounding 98 Acres Resort and Spa affords ample opportunity for hiking, trekking and biking. Ella is a great location for viewing some of the best natural scenery in Sri Lanka.

Must visit locations:

Little Adam’s Peak is Ella’s best known tourist attraction. Resembling Adam's Peak, it is located five minutes away from the resort. A short half hour climb to the top of the 1141 metre peak affords breathtaking views of an endless valley, tea plantations and waterfalls.

Ella Rock is a must for those into hiking and trekking. Taking about three hours, it is a challenging climb which offers spectacular views of the valley.

The Ravana Ella Falls is a wonderful sightseeing attraction, ranking as one of the widest falls in Sri Lanka. Measuring approximately 25 meters (82 ft) in height, it cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, a ten minute ride or a half hour walk away from the resort. Visit the nearby Ravana cave, which - according to historical lore - is famed to have been the captive hiding place of Seetha, who was kidnapped from India by Ravana.

Bambaragama Falls. Sri Lanka’s second highest waterfall is a twenty minute ride or a one hour walk from the resort.

You could also book a Helicopter Ride to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery. The resort's Private helipad is located 5 minutes away. Helicopter rides can be arranged in advance.
