Kandima Maldives

This 3km island is certainly one of the biggest resorts we have visited in the Maldives. The resort itself accounts for about 2km with the remaining 1km still undeveloped. As you can imagine, a resort this size can accommodate a wide range of facilities including several dining options, a large gym and spa, a great kids club and 2 large swimming pools complete with pool bars. The size of the island means that even though there is a lot here, it doesn't feel crowded. It is easy to walk around, the paths are all sandy so no shoes required. But if you don't fancy walking, little buses (posh golf buggies) run up and down the island, taking you anywhere you want to go. The rooms are big and comfortable, and all can accommodate 4 people. Slightly unusual for the Maldives, the lead in rooms are in blocks of 4, 2 rooms on the ground and 2 on the first floor. The ground floor rooms have direct access to the beach, with the rooms upstairs offering fabulous views out to sea - both very nice. The beach accommodation has Villas with and without pools, there are ocean villas with pools and water villas. This is not a traditional looking Maldivian resort, but if you want to try something a little different, a resort that seeks to balance a little bit of 'buzz' with relaxation then this could be the place for you. High levels of service and a very warm welcome give this resort a definite thumbs up!
